Buntong assemblyman A. Sivasubramaniam said that during the ruckus in the House on Thursday, no one had the time to think about sexually harassing another.
“We were all in the assembly to fight for the people, not to sexually harass women,” he said outside the district police headquarters yesterday.
He was responding to a statement by Hamidah claiming the way the Barisan women had been “attacked” in the House was tantamount to sexual harassment.
Sivasubramaniam added that Hamidah made a mockery of the assembly by making such an allegation against other elected representatives.
“She should respect the dewan more. Yes, things became chaotic during the assembly and people were pushing each other, but there was no time to sexually harass anyone.
“Furthermore, the media were all watching us, so everyone knew exactly what had happened,” he said.
