Traps will be set for Perak Barisan Nasional leaders the next time they approach Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen to jump ship, state senior executive council member Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham said.
“The next time they approach Pakatan assemblymen to cross over to Barisan, the reply will be positive. But they must be prepared to go to prison for it,” he said.
Saying that the people of Perak were fed-up with Barisan’s antics to woo Pakatan assemblymen to jump ship, Ngeh said:
“I’m openly declaring that the ACA (Anti-Corruption Agency) will set a trap for the next offer for Pakatan assemblymen to cross over to Barisan.”
Ngeh, the Perak DAP chief, said he had spoken to a senior ACA officer on the matter.
He explained that he was publicising the idea of the trap because the people were tired of Barisan’s way of “buying power”.
The government must move forward and to build up investor confidence, he told reporters yesterday after opening the Neesum Bhd kidney charity organisation here.
“We are here to develop the state,” he said.
He described the statement by Perak Barisan chief Datuk Seri Mohamad Tajol Rosli Ghazali that he would not buy over Pakatan assemblymen as unbelievable.
“More than 10 Pakatan assemblymen have been approached and the offer ranged from RM5mil to RM60mil,” Ngeh said.
“I call on Tajol Rosli to not use money to buy power,” he said, adding that reports had been lodged with the police and the ACA over this.
Ngeh said the SMSes making the offers and identities of the people who sent them had been given to the ACA.
