IPOH: The Perak Pakatan Rakyat government was forced to seek the Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah’s consent to the dissolution of the State Assembly because of the resignation of Jelapang assemblyman and Deputy Speaker Hee Yit Foong.

State senior executive councillor Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham said the government would still be stable even with the resignation of the two PKR exco members, Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu.

“With Hee’s resignation, we were forced to ask for a state dissolution,” said Ngeh after a late press conference at Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin’s official residence yesterday.

Hee’s resignation letter was received yesterday following the resignations of Jamaluddin and Mohd Osman, putting Pakatan and Barisan Nasional on equal footing with 28 seats each.

Ngeh also said Hee’s reason for leaving Pakatan was because she was not given any benefits by the state.

He said Hee was dissatisfied and had complained for not being appointed an exco member and for not getting a Toyota Camry.
