Perak MCA local councillors have told state Education, Local Government, Housing and Public Transport Committee chairman Nga Kor Ming to check his facts before making sweeping statements.
Their spokesman, Tony Khoo from the Ipoh City Council (DBI), said Nga’s statement that some councillors refused to attend meetings and were being uncooperative was not true.
“What meetings were we supposed to attend, when we have been barred by the DBI from attending the full board meeting following the March 8 general election?” he asked yesterday.
Among the councillors present were MCA whip in DBI Phang Tzu Pin, Kinta Barat district council MCA whip Lee Kim Choy and Kinta Selatan district council MCA whip Kok Pak Foo.
Khoo, who is also Perak MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau chief, added that a check with the council confirmed that the Pakatan Rakyat state government had not instructed the council to hold meetings.
