The Bercham DAP branch has received good response from the public in its call for donations for the Sichuan earthquake victims.
Bercham state assemblyman Sum Cheok Leng said they collected RM14,661 from customers of the Restoran Tauge Ayam 818 in one night on Tuesday.“Many told me how sorry they felt for the victims. They said they wanted to give as much as they could to help them out,” said Sum yesterday.
“During our first collection round last Sunday, we managed to get RM6,168 from the new villages,” he said.
Sum added that the drive in his constituency would continue until the end of the month.
