FOLLOWING a slight change to the dome’s design, which caused a nine-month delay, work on the Sultan Yusuff Izzuddin Shah mosque in Seri Iskandar, Perak, is finally completed.
Opened yesterday by the Regent of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah, the mosque had been in use since Jan 18.
Construction of the RM6mil mosque started in 2005.
It was scheduled for completion on Dec 14 in 2006 but due to changes to the dome’s design, the date of completion was extended to Sept 16 last year.

The mosque can accommodate up to 2,000 people.
In his speech, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin urged the mosque committee to organise more activities.
“The mosque is not only a place for prayers,” he said.
Raja Dr Nazrin Shah later joined the congregation for Friday pra-yers at the mosque.
