No candidate yet to replace sacked religious director - The Star

IPOH: May 1, 2008 By SYLVIA LOOI

The Perak state government does not have a candidate to replace the sacked state Religious Department director Datuk Jamry Sury yet.

“We have not decided on the matter yet,” Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin told reporters after attending the state level Labour Day celebration held at the Red Crescent Society Hall here Thursday.

On Jamry’s statement that he had been advised against revealing the reason for his removal, Nizar declined to comment.

It was reported on Wednesday that Jamry was given 24 hours to vacate his post.

The state had to date been silent on the reason for giving the department head his marching orders.

The reason is obvious. If he (Jamry)thinks that he is still serving BN, then he must resign or be terminated.
